…that New Zealand Premier, Jacinda Ardern, has a polydactyl cat.
It's not something I was actively researching - I had to look up the word 'Polydactyl' to find out that it means having more or less toes than is normal.
It all started because of a missed call from Tokelau. I picked up my phone to find that I had missed a call from a number beginning '00698' which, when researched, proved to be from the South Pacific archipelago, one of three atolls with a combined land mass of 10 sq. kilometres, and whose principal exports are Copra and stamps.
It was unusual only in that I don't believe I know anyone on Tokelau.
In the course of my investigation, I also found that the Administrator of the NZ-governed territory is one Ross Ardern, father of the current NZ Premier and former Police Commissioner of Niue, another South Pacific island administered by New Zealand.
It's amazing what one can learn from a missed call...

Oh, and the cat's name is 'Paddles'...
